Trivia

• The original ending to the film was to have been Virgil getting gunned-down, Bonnie and Clyde style. Next the camera focusses on a funeral scene, with Virgil's coffin being slowly lowered into the grave. Woody's on-screen wife, Louise Lasser (I think?) weeps over the coffin for a time and leaves.

  A voice is then heard, from the coffin, asking "Hello? Is there anybody there?". THE END.
